Construction Updates
Dear White Pine Owners:
We have received official notice from Schweitzer announcing the expansion of the White Pine Lodge. The final details and plans for the expansion are still in process and will be shared as soon as they are available. Construction will start 4/21/2021, which coincides with the Schweitzer Village shut down. All vehicles parked in garage level A must be removed BEFORE 4/21/2021. If garage A is clear of vehicles on or before that date, the doors will be de-activated.
Parking for WP owners will be restricted to garage level B only. Assigned parking is suspended until garage A re opens for the 21/22 ski season. Parking in garage level B will be first come first serve, any available spot. Please remember that handicap spaces require permits for use.
Please see the communication from the Resort regarding Village Access and Traffic flow:
Village access – Spring/Summer/Fall 2021
As we embark on our continued growth pattern at Schweitzer, we will experience significant disruption to traffic flow approaching and into the village area. We have several major initiatives resuming and starting once the ski season concludes on April 11th and will carry through winter opening.
- Continued construction on Humbird Hotel/Crows Bench Restaurant
- Construction launch on the “Ski Hut” (Immediately South of the Selkirk Lodge)
- Heated sidewalk renovation
- Launch of the White Pine 2 extension project.
- Various landscaping updates
Our plan is to communicate frequently with guests/owners arriving to Schweitzer April 12th and beyond. We are aware that it will be difficult to maintain flawless execution however we will do our best. We will strive to communicate using multiple channels:
- Schweitzer Website and Social Media
- Point of Booking and Pre-Arrival E-mails
- Pre-Arrival Calls (where applicable)
- Signage/Maps
- Strategically Placed Personnel
What to expect:
- There will be no available parking in the Lakeview Lot, Selkirk Garage, and White Pine A Level parking.
- Parking will be available on Village Lane and the Gateway lot. We will be honing our operations plan relative to these areas to improve the experience.
- The main arrival portal to the village will be via the north end of the village. This will be the case for the balance of the spring, summer, and fall.
- We plan to maintain pedestrian access to the Selkirk lobby as well as to the White Pine store fronts (all the way to Pucci’s)
- We intended to keep the north end of the village (beyond the Selkirk Lodge) as normal as possible.
- To help mitigate guest complaints and dissatisfaction we plan to restrict available lodging inventory in the village until May 15th.
We anticipate little to no revenue displacement. This pause will allow us the chance to establish a clear understanding of what the landscape will look like relative to the multiple projects and workflow. Thank you all for your patience and understanding as we make these dramatic improvements to the village core.
